The German for native speakers: text analysis and competence I (SL) course will deal with both theoretical and practical basics for text reception and production in German as mother tongue.

The focus will be on questions of orthography, grammar, and style as well as on the analysis of various text types, in particular journalistic text types such as commentary, news presentation, and reportage.

The course will adopt an interactive approach.

There will be a written final exam in accordance with the regulations for the Introductory and Orientation Period (STEOP).

Reference lists, scripts, and worksheets will be distributed either in digital format or in hard copy.

The course is offered for students with German as their mother tongue.

Electronic registration via the online study programme is compulsory for participation in the course.
