Elective Module 1: Structures and Change in Contemporary Society 1 (5 ECTS-Credits, 2 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: positive completion of the modules according to § 5 Para 1 No 1 and 2
Learning Outcome: Students should acquire an understanding of various societal concepts and be enabled to estimate their potential for global change processes.
Elective Module 2: Market, State, Social Institutions 1 (5 ECTS-AP, 2 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: positive completion of the modules according to § 5 Para 1 No 1 and 2
Learning Outcome: With comparative and theoretical studies students acquire knowledge of the emergence and the forms of major social institutions and structures.
Elective Module 3: Life World, Life Forms: Individual and Society 1 (5 ECTS-Credits, 2 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: positive completion of the modules according to § 5 Para 1 No 1 and 2
Learning Outcome: The aim of this module is to familiarise students with established approaches, as in an understanding sociology and symbolic interactionism with corresponding core issues of cultural sociology and new impulses from Women¿s Studies, Queer Theory and post-structuralism.
Elective Module 5: Law for Political Science (10 ECTS-Credits, 5 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Students acquire basic knowledge of the areas of law most relevant for political science and learn how to apply these in their own discipline.
Elective Module 6: History of Philosophy IV (7.5 ECTS-Credits, 4 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Knowledge of the philosophy of the late Modern Era and of the Present in the form of an overview or through the study of a key historical figure; the ability to do a good interpretation of philosophical texts of the late Modern Era and of the Present in their historical contexts and to use them as a source of contemporary issues and solutions to problems.
