In this module students obtain in-depth knowledge about the mathematics of computed tomography, learn about current problems, and are able to develop innovative solutions for their solution. 

Classical X-ray based computed tomography leads to the mathematical problem of determining a function from integral values ​​of this function along certain lines (described by the Radon transform). In this lecture we will study the following topics, which are relevant for the development of efficient reconstruction algorithms for computed tomography:

*) Fourier transform

*) Radon transform

*) Sampling theory

In addition, we will still study generalized Radon transforms and introduce some modern tomographic methods.

Continuous assessment (based on regular written and/or oral contribution by participants).

Course examination according to § 7, statute section on "study-law regulations"

Will be discussed in the first lesson.
