The aim of the course is to be able to deal critically with current social trends in urban areas in the context of sociology, urban planning and architecture. There are therefore presented and discussed current issues and the genesis of the area urban sociology. The goal is that the participants work out their own, informed positions on the topics.

Teaching basic knowledge and understanding about sociological and social structures in cities and developments; the sociological introduction is also used to present the urban development and architecture in society as well as importance of the students own work, able to develop critical conscience. Social modernization and urbanization processes are analyzed based on theoretical or practical examples and then projected.

Continuous assessment (based on regular written and/or oral contribution by participants).

Course examination according to § 7, statute section on "study-law regulations"
