Compulsory Module 8: History, Art and Cultural History of Islam (6 ECTS-Credits; 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Students are able to explain the different periods of Islamic history up to the disintegration of the Abbasid Empire. They can argue the socio-economic and political influences on the development of the Islamic community. They can identify essential phases of Islamic art and cultural history, describe the corresponding Islamic art forms and prepare them for current contexts.
