Learning Outcome:

This practical course gives practical insights into the assessment and evaluation of local, regional and global patterns of biodiversity in terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems, their causes and significance, and effects of global changes.

Contents:

Practical exercises on global and regional patterns of biodiversity in aquatic and terrestrial habitats and on (functional) biogeography as well as causal and consequences for biocoenoses and ecosystem processes.

Methods:

observational and experimental studies, analyses based on literature and databases

Assessment:

oral (presentations) and written (reports)

Semester introduction for all students in the Master's Programmes Ecology+Biodiversity and EMMA: 5.10.2020, 09:00 - 10:00, online: participate

For students of Master in Environmental Management of Mountain Areas (EMMA) this course is the equivalent to UE in elective module 9.
