Students master basic experimental methods of physical chemistry. In the Lab-course, the students acquire multidisciplinary key skills in teamwork, oral ,and written communication.

Measuring the heat of reaction (heat of solution of a salt), the electrolytic conductivity (determining a protolysis), measurement of molecular weights by Viktor Meyer, phase equilibria of solid-liquid systems (melting diagram, freezing point, solubility of an acid as a function of temperature), phase equilibria of liquid-gaseous systems (vapor pressure as a function of temperature, vapor pressure diagram and boiling point diagram).

Will be discussed in lecture No 710108 "Methods of Physical Chemistry 1". Script and other information in eCampus/OLAT.

Required qualifications for prospective bachelors: Succesful passing of VL 710.108, "Methods of Physical Chemistry I" and the Modules 1, 5, 12 (Mathematik/Physik A, B; Physikalische Chemie A). No qualifications required for prospective teachers.
