After completing this module, students are able to deal with a part of mathematics in a methodically correct way and to explain the topic both in writing and orally, in a comprehensible manner.

The Radon transform maps a function defined in the Euclidian plane to its integrals over straight lines and forms the mathematical basis of computed tomography. In this seminar we study the following topics, which are relevant for theory and application of the Radon transform: 

*) Fourier analysis

*) Radon transform

*) Sampling theory

In addition, we will still study generalized Radon transforms and introduce some more recent tomographic modalities.

Continuous assessment (based on regular written and/or oral contribution by participants).

Course examination according to § 7, statute section on "study-law regulations"
