Knowledge of the basic structure and methods of 1D-hydrodynamic numerical models; applicability of the HEC-RAS software; capability to estimate bed-load transport in mountain rivers.

Practical introduction to the HEC-RAS software; steady state and hydrodynamic modelling; application of empirical bed-load transport approaches; elaboration of an exercise programme in groups with support from the instructor(s).
